Burke pays tribute to Chaka Khan
Alexandra Burke was among the stars performing at the Apollo Theatre Spring Gala Concert to celebrate the induction of Chaka Khan into the Apollo Hall of Fame.
Sarah Jessica Parker also attended the event in a shimmering polka dot dress to help honour Aint Nobody star Chaka Khan, as she was made an official Apollo Legend.
Alexandra shared the stage with Broadway star Jennifer Holliday and Canadian RnB singer Deborah Cox.
The former X Factor winner also performed solo in a sequinned mini-dress, blowing kisses to the crowd.
Alexandra was due to perform a series of shows at London's Royal Albert Hall in tribute to Blues legend Billie Holiday, but cancelled the residency due to "overwhelming demand". Fans are waiting for her to announce the rescheduled dates.
Also performing at the gala in New York, which was hosted by actor and singer Wayne Brady, were Patti LaBelle and Mary J Blige.
Chaka Khan said previously: "I am honoured that the Apollo is inducting me into the Apollo Legends Hall of Fame. The Apollo Theatre is an American institution and is world-renowned for developing, nurturing, and creating talent for decades. It has supported my career and now they are a part of honouring my legacy."
The Apollo Theatre is a non-profit organisation that honours the influence and advances the contributions of African American artists. Proceeds from the Spring Gala help fund the rest of the year's calendar of shows, as well as educational and community schemes
