Charity fundraiser for Take That

Take That are to play a fundraising show for the charity War Child - their smallest full headlining show for a paying audience since they reunited a decade ago.

They will perform to 2,000 fans at the Shepherd's Bush Empire in west London on February 23 in a gig being staged in the build-up to the Brit Awards ceremony two days later.

The £75-a-head concert will raise funds for children affected by violence in locations such as Iraq, Syria, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Afghanistan.

Take That follow acts such as Coldplay, Muse and Blur who have played previous Brits shows for War Child.

Tickets go on sale on Wednesday to O2 customers and then generally from Friday.

Ben Knowles, director of music at the charity, said: "It's going to be an incredible night for 2,000 lucky fans and an important one for the thousands of children it will help War Child save from the horrors of war."

Take That are also among the acts who will perform at the Brit Awards, which take place at the O2 Arena and will be broadcast by ITV on February 25.
