Charlie Simpson: I'd do R-Patz duet

Charlie Simpson has revealed he'd be "well up" for doing a duet with Twilight star Robert Pattinson.

The Fightstar singer and former Busted member has just launched his solo career and says his acoustic songs are inspired by artists such as Jeff Buckley and Elliot Smith.

And he revealed he'd love to record with fellow Buckley fan Robert.

He said: "I'd love that. He's got a great voice, man."

He went on: "I heard one of his songs, I think it was on the Twilight soundtrack, someone said I should check out his stuff. [A duet] would be awesome, I'd be well up for that."

Charlie, who performed at the BT Digital Music Awards at Camden's Roundhouse on Thursday night, said even though Busted and Fightstar were very different in their musical styles, his solo stuff is unlikely to change tack.

He said: "For my solo stuff this is definitely the sound I'm going to stick with."

Charlie's debut solo album Young Pilgrim is out now, while his band Fightstar are on hiatus until next year.
