Coldplay are thought to be working on two comeback albums.
The band have already announced that they will release sixth album Ghost Stories next month, but according to the Daily Star an insider at their record label has claimed they will release a seventh next year.
Ghost Stories has been touted as a completely different direction for the band, and the rumoured seventh release is expected to be a return to a more commercial sound.
It's a tactic that has been used in the past by bands hoping to try out something a bit different without alienating fans, such as U2 with Achtung Baby and Zooropa, and Radiohead's Kid A and Amnesiac.
Frontman Chris Martin is said to have been throwing himself into music since his recent split from wife Gwyneth Paltrow.
The double album release is expected to be followed by a tour in 2015, giving fans time to digest the new sound.
Ghost Stories is due to be released on May 19.
