Country legend Don Williams in Belfast gig

US country legend Don Williams is Belfast-bound as part of an upcoming tour of Ireland.

The Texan music star is to play the Waterfront Hall on April 21 next year with fans able to snap up tickets from this Friday.

Williams is famous for such tunes as I Recall A Gypsy Woman, AmSanda and Some Broken Hearts Never Mend.

The veteran performer began his career nearly 50 years ago as part of the folk-pop group Pozo-Seco Singers. He released his first solo single, Don't You Believe, in June 1972 before going on to amass 17 number one hits and getting inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.

Williams claimed to have played his final concert in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2006, but late last year announced that he would resume touring.

Tickets for the show at the Waterfront Hall will go on sale on Friday morning starting at £37.
