Country star Mandy Barnett joins the Ulster Orchestra for one 'Crazy' night

Tennessee country singer Mandy Barnett will join the Ulster Orchestra on stage at the Waterfront Hall in Belfast next month.

Hailed as ‘one of the greatest female voices in American country music today’, Mandy will perform on stage on Wednesday, May 2 2018.

The evening will include favourite Country hits such as Crazy, Ring of Fire and Stand By Your Man.

Usually joined by a five piece band, Mandy will have the support of the full Ulster Orchestra to play some of Country’s finest classics.

Ulster Orchestra Managing Director, Richard Wigley, said he is looking forward to this unique fusion of two very different strands of classical music.

He added: “This special concert promises to be a real musical treat for Country fans.

"Mandy has an amazing voice, which the Ulster Orchestra will highlight with their own classical adaptation of Country classics.”

The singer's performance is part of the ‘I Love Nashville’ programme of events organised by Belfast City Council.

It takes place across the city from Saturday, April 28 – Sunday, May 6 2018.

Nashville in Belfast will be a celebration of over 20 years of a working relationship with Belfast’s sister city, where music and culture historically link the two.
