Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt will no longer be headlining at Londonderry’s Halloween celebrations as she has to scarper back to the US early, it emerged last night.
Wyatt has been forced to cancel her appearance at the open air gig due to “contractual issues” back in the US and has had to schedule an earlier flight on October 31.
The singer, who was due to perform with new outfit, Her Majesty and the Wolves, will now be replaced on the Guildhall Square stage by former X Factor girlband Belle Amie.
Wyatt had been booked through Strabane-based Joe Gallagher Entertainments.
Mr Gallagher said yesterday: “The bottom line is flight times didn’t suit. It’s unfortunate.”
Gerald McColgan, event organiser with Derry City Council, said that while there was disappointment that Wyatt would not be performing, the X-Factor trio were a fine replacement.
He said: “Belle Amie have massive appeal and will prove popular with families.”
