‘Exhausted’ Katie Melua axes tour dates
Pop star Katie Melua has been forced to cancel her winter tour because of exhaustion.
The singer was born in Georgia, the former Soviet Republic, but grew up in Belfast. She has been forced to postpone her upcoming shows.
A statement from her management said Katie had been told by doctors to rest until the new year.
It said: “Katie is suffering from exhaustion and has been ordered by her doctors not to work for a few months. Any touring and promotional activity has been postponed until after Christmas.”
The chart-topping singer/wongwriter, who attended St Catherine’s Primary School and Dominican College, Fortwilliam, when she lived in Belfast, was due to play 14 dates in the UK in December.
