Garvey lets slip with album title
Elbow frontman Guy Garvey said he was "in terrible trouble" after revealing the name of the band's new album during a drunken radio appearance.
The Bury-born singer said he was scolded by his record company after he let the title slip during an appearance on Marc Riley's 6 Music show.
He told 6 Music: "I'm in terrible trouble. I got drunk and announced on air the title of the album, under the influence of old mild Guinness.
"You can't really keep secrets from Elbow fans for very long, anyway. They're an industrious bunch. They find things out."
The record, called Build A Rocket, Boys!, will be released in March.
Guy said the album, a follow-up to the Mercury Award winning Seldom Seen Kid, was influenced by his return home.
He said: "Because I've moved back to an old neighbourhood, where I spent my early to late teens, I've been remembering that period of my life in great detail.
"I live on a street I used to play on when I was 14. That's what the album is about - the years I spent here growing up. The difficulties of it and the great things about it, too."
