Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle goes solo ...in personal and professional life
Girls Aloud star Nadine Coyle has split from her hunky American footballer boyfriend Jason Bell, according to reports.
The 25-year-old Northern Irish singer has been involved with the New York Giants player since September 2008, but reports say she has dumped him ahead of her solo career launch.
A source has been quoted as saying: “Nadine was the one who decided it wasn't working. It’s all very amicable and they will remain friends.”
However, Nadine's spokeswoman said: “Rumours regarding the split are incorrect”.
Bell (32) has been a permanent fixture in Nadine's life since she moved to Los Angeles in September 2007.
The Londonderry beauty originally moved to LA to be with then boyfriend, Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe, but they split shortly afterwards in January 2008.
However, Nadine stayed in the US and started dating Bell.
She has been working on her debut album for the past few weeks and it is thought she wants to focus all her attention on it.
It's slated for a UK release in November on Geffen Records.
The star has been working with songwriter Guy Chambers, who wrote many of Robbie Williams' biggest hits, and William Orbit, famous for his work with Madonna.
Rumours have been swirling for weeks that Girls Aloud were to reform without Nadine — widely regarded as having the best voice in the group — although the band denied it just last week.
Sarah Harding, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts and Cheryl Cole insisted that Nadine was still one of their number, even though they admitted she was out of their ‘inner circle' as she lived so far away.
Nadine has previously spoken of her love of Motown, rock and soul, and it's said that her debut album will have a very different sound to Girls Aloud.
Those who've had sneak previews say the LP has some “huge” pop songs on it.
