Guns n' Roses announce Slane Castle 2017 gig

Guns n' Roses have announced an Irish gig for 2017.

The band will kick off their Not In This Lifetime tour world tour at Slane Castle on May 27, 2017.

It marks their grand return to the Co Meath venue since they last played there in 1992.

No stranger to Irish shores, Guns n' Roses, in all its forms, has toured Ireland over the years, but this would make their first time the original line-up performed here in 25 years.

MCD made the announcement at a press conference at Bruxelles today.

The band reunited in April to play the Coachella festival in California, with frontman Axl Rose, guitarist Slash and bass player Duff McKagan sharing a stage for the first time since 1993.

Speaking about the announcement, Lord Henry Mountcharles said: "We are really thrilled to have one of the most exciting rock n' roll bands in the world coming back to Slane 25 years after they first played, the same month in 1992 which was critically considered to be one of the best Slane’s ever."

Other stops include London, Vienna, Madrid, Paris and Stockholm.

Guns N' Roses will then return to North America for more stadium dates.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, December 9 at 9am from usual outlets.
