Kelis and Horslips are to join the line-up for Belfast's Arthur’s Day celebrations next week.
Also on the bill are Paolo Nutini, Bell X1, The Charlatans, Neil Hannon and Fight Like Apes who will perform in pubs and venues across the island of Ireland on September 22.
As well as playing in the bigger venues, each of the studio artists announced earlier this summer, such as The Enemy, Ash and Cashier No. 9, will also turn up in a pub for a surprise performance on the night.
Now in its third year, the Arthur’s Day celebrations have proven a massive hit with people throughout Ireland and around the world. The date will be marked by a series of high profile events and celebrations across Ireland and in 40 countries around the world including Italy, Germany, Spain, Malaysia and Australia to honour the life and legacy of Arthur Guinness – the philanthropist and founder of Guinness.
Horslips said: “It’s an honour for us to be back and playing in Belfast. It’s a massive thrill for us to be sharing the stage with so many up and coming new bands, after our first festival in the Summer of 1971."
Orla Flanagan, Brand Manager, Guinness commented: “There is huge excitement building for the Arthur’s Day celebrations and we are really delighted to announce the new wave of amazing artists who will perform on the day. This year will be made all the more special with the addition of a major development for the Arthur Guinness Fund in the form of ‘checking in’ to a pub on Arthur’s Day via Facebook places and for every check in, we will donate £5 to the Arthur Guinness Fund up to a maximum of €500,000.”
