The 'Drawn Together' event at the Oh Yeah Music Centre will see the band perform against a backdrop of Mark's music-inspired illustrations.

As well as providing the cover art for Cat Malojian's album covers, Mark's pictures have featured some of music's biggest names, including Bob Dylan, Keith Richards and Radiohead's Thom Yorke.

"Excessively listening to a particular artist during the creation of their individual portrait enables me to develop a unique relationship with their music," said Mark.

"This allows me to create a piece which is reflective of the personality and artistic flair each musician represents."

Mark has become known for focusing on a wide-range of musicians and has been careful not to restrict his work to one particular genre.

"The collection is a reflection of the diversity of both my artistic styles and musical tastes.

"From early rock legends to fresh home-grown new lyricists, the work is an exploration of a journey through sight and sound which will, I hope, encourage viewers to develop a relationship with the music as well as the imagery of each piece."

Cat Malojian's performance at the exhibition is the first in a series of local gigs before they head to Canada in June to participate in the North by Northeast Music Festival.

The band will line-up at the Toronto event alongside some of the world's most hotly-tipped international acts. Singer Stevie Scullion is excited about their first time performing in front of a Canadian audience.

Mark Reihill discusses his work

"It'll be our first time playing outside Ireland so we can't wait! Canadian music has been hugely influential to us," he said.

"We grew up listening to people like Neil Young & The Band & love some of the newer artists like Feist & Arcade Fire. We're hoping some of them will be playing the festival."

Stevie also discussed the band's latest single 'Hand of God', a tribute to Argentinian football legend Diego Maradona.

"I wrote the Maradona song about 5 years ago and wanted to record it before the last World Cup but we never got round to it.

"It seems like the timing might be better this time round anyway, since Maradona looks like he might have a central role to play in this summer's tournament! We've made a video for it too, which was brilliant craic!"
