Liam's band to play Isle of Wight

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher will be bringing his new band to the Isle of Wight Festival.

Beady Eye will take to the main stage ahead of Sunday night headliners Kasabian.

The show will give fans a chance to see the Manchester singer after the band's first UK tour sold out in 30 minutes.

A festival spokeswoman said: "It's sure to be an explosive show."

Beady Eye, comprising of Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, are set to release their debut album Different Gear, Still Speeding in February.

The spokeswoman added: "The band gave fans a taster of what's to come, making Bring The Light available as a free download earlier this year, and now become a much anticipated addition to the Isle of Wight Festival line-up."

The other headliners for the festival have been announced as Foo Fighters and Kings of Leon, with newly-reformed Pulp, Manic Street Preachers and Tom Jones also performing.

Tickets are on sale now for the festival, which takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport, Isle of Wight, from June 10 to 12.
