Lionel Richie eyes Robbie duet
Lionel Richie has revealed he would like to duet with Robbie Williams.
The Say You, Say Me singer claimed he has been toying with the potential collaboration for a while, but nothing has come to fruition.
"I really want to do something with Robbie Williams - he's a great performer, I love him... I've been playing around with him for the longest time but I've just never done anything with him," he said.
Lionel - who appears in the new Walkers Extra Crunchy ad - gives the thumbs up to Robbie reuniting with his former band Take That.
"Isn't that crazy? That's going to be interesting. That's home for him so he'll fit right in," he added.
With under four decades of hits under his belt, the 61-year-old claimed it is tougher to make it in music these days.
"When I wrote Three Times A Lady, I didn't think it would be forever but the music has stuck around. There's no formula for that," he said.
"It's even harder right now because we're into great records, not so much songs. We're into some pretty fast food artists now because they're a great gimmick but I don't know if they will stick around. The record industry has changed so it's very difficult to know now where the career is. You just have to be very, very lucky and understand that songs are still king."
