Lowe: I want Skrillex on TV show
Zane Lowe has revealed he would like Skrillex to appear on his new TV show.
Soundchain, which will air on MTV Music in July, will see the BBC Radio 1 DJ discuss career and backgrounds with music acts such as Nas, Biffy Clyro and Ed Sheeran in each episode, reported Digital Spy.
He would like Californian artist Skrillex to feature on the next series, saying: "He does very little on camera, his story is incredible.
"He went from a heavy metal artist to a guy who's won a bunch of Grammys making music on a tidy laptop in a squat in LA using headphones. That is the electronic story for me now."
He would also like Deadmau5 to appear: "I'd talk to Deadmau5. Anyone for me who represents what they are as an artist, that's what we're trying to do, is put the personality together with the music."
Queens Of The Stone Age, Chase And Status, Jake Bugg and Kasabian will also appear in the first series of the show, which will feature performances from each act.
"We keep it really simple, and try not to reinvent anything. If you get the right subject matter then it can be a compelling watch. It's about concentrating on their journey," he said.
"What's really cool is that all these artists, a lot of them are really new. It's quite rare to speak to someone like Ed Sheeran and go, 'Let's go back', because he's too busy looking forward. We wanted to contextualise the journey and hear the emotional stuff and funny stuff and put it all together."
Director Ross Cairns said his dream artists for a second series would be Foo Fighters and Eminem.
Relentless Ultra Presents Soundchain launches on MTV Music on July 6 at 9.30pm.
