Meighan blasts 'tragic' X Factor
Kasabian frontman Tom Meighan has branded The X Factor as "tragic".
The singer, whose band is about to release fourth album Velociraptor!, said the show was more about television than musical expertise.
Tom said the show was "not in my world".
"It's just really tragic. It's not about singing it's about TV," he said.
"You get the contestants who are all like drooling. Pathetic innit. The egos are awful, awful."
Tom was speaking as the band played a secret show aboard a stationary Boeing 747 for online video firm Vevo.
They were showcasing tracks from the new album for 200 fans at Bruntingthorpe Aerodrome, close to the band's home city of Leicester.
