Miley Cyrus, Robin Thicke at VMAs
Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke are set to perform at the MTV Video Music Awards.
The singers are the latest acts to be announced for the awards ceremony and will also compete against each other in a new category.
MTV announced that the new award would be called best song of the summer and that this year's nominees would be Miley's We Can't Stop, Robin's Blurred Lines, Daft Punk's Get Lucky, Selena Gomez's Come And Get It, One Direction's Best Song Ever and I Need Your Love by Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding.
The new category means Miley and Robin are now tied with Bruno Mars as the second most nominated act at this year's VMAs with four each.
Justin Timberlake and Macklemore And Ryan Lewis lead the nominations with six apiece.
Kanye West is performing again at this year's ceremony, tying him with Madonna as the act to have made the most appearances there with seven times each
Lady Gaga and Katy Perry will also perform at the awards, to air live on August 25.
