Olly Murs reckons Simon Cowell has a "tough slog" ahead of him if he is going to win this year's series of The X Factor.
The judge is pinning his hopes on One Direction scooping the crown after losing all his other acts. But last year's runner-up said the boyband have yet to put in a show-stopping performance.
At the Cosmopolitan Ultimate Women Of The Year awards, Olly said: "Simon's going to have a tough slog with only one act left. One Direction has a great fanbase already and they're building all the time. I've yet to see a One Direction performance where you go 'Wow'."
He added: "I think that could come if they keep growing the way they're growing. It's going to be tough for Simon but if there's one guy that can win it and beat Cheryl it's Simon."
Olly, who said he is "swaying towards Cher" as his favourite contestant, also gave his verdict on Wagner still being in the contest.
"Wagner is just great entertainment for the show. And what I love is he's got a real smile on his face and is enjoying himself. But it'll get to the point where there will be a natural four or five at the top that have a good shot at winning."
