One Direction bowled over in US

One Direction have had a ticking off from their record label after celebrations during their US tour got out of hand.

Fresh from a gig at New York's Radio City Hall, the boy band decided to let off some steam with a trip to the bowling alley.

But Louis Tomlinson told the Daily Mirror things got too wild when he and his What Makes You Beautiful bandmates ended up causing havoc and breaking some machinery.

"The whole thing came off its hinges. It totally broke. We got a slap on the hand and were told off by the label for that," he confessed.

"We'd taken over a lane, played about two games and then got a bit bored. So we started an experiment, throwing two or three balls at the same time."

Harry Styles added: "It was really bad but quite funny - but no one else thought so."

The group, who came third in the 2010 series of The X Factor, were reportedly stuck on their tour bus for half an hour after the Radio City concert as more than 100 fans climbed onto its roof.
