One Direction fever hits Belfast with On The Road Again Tour at SSE Arena

By Claire Williamson

One Direction fever is taking over Belfast as the boys are in town for the next three nights.

Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Niall Horan will entertain their army of dedicated fans who camped out braving the cold to get their hands on the coveted On The Road Again tour tickets.

The On The Road Again tour kicks off tonight at 7.30pm at the SSE Arena Belfast but the loyal fans have been queuing for hours to get the best spot to see their idols.

Some 30,000 fans in Northern Ireland have splashed out more than £1.6m on tickets for the band's three sell-out shows.

Fans are full of excitement armed with posters, banners and memorabilia - some having queued from 9am - all in a bid to get the foursome's attention before they embark on their break.

Security is strict and a number of items have been banned from the arena including selfie sticks, video/audio recorders, umbrellas and glow sticks.

Searches will be in operation with all bags being searched.

Screaming fans will be treated to the foursome belting out their hits including What Makes You Beautiful and Steal My Girl - minus former member Zayn Malik who left the band earlier this year.
