SuBo taking on Gaga at Grammys
Susan Boyle is taking on Lady Gaga and Katy Perry in a bid to bag a Grammy.
The Scottish singing sensation was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album for her debut I Dreamed A Dream.
The album, which has sold more than 10 million copies, is up against Lady Gaga's The Fame Monster and Katy Perry's Teenage Dream. Justin Bieber and John Mayer were also nominated.
Susan said of her nomination: "Up against wonderful artists like Lady Gaga and Katy Perry, I don't expect to win for a moment but how fantastic just to be recognised like this with a nomination on my first album."
There was more British success in the US awards nods with folk-rockers Mumford & Sons and Florence And The Machine nominated for Best New Artist.
Veteran guitarist Jeff Beck picked up five nominations including nods for Best Pop Instrumental Performance and Best Rock Album.
Electronic pop duo Goldfrapp picked up two nominations and actress Emma Thompson was nominated for the Best Spoken Word Album For Children with Nanny McPhee Returns, based on the film of the same name.
Topping the nominations was resurgent rapper Eminem who received 10 nods, including the biggest prizes - album, song and record of the year.
Bruno Mars was not far behind with seven nominations, and Lady Antebellum, Jay-Z and Lady Gaga had six each.
The awards will be given out at the 53rd annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in February 2011.
