The Darkness to play Belfast date

Rockers The Darkness are set to perform in Belfast later this year.

The band will perform at The Limelight 1 in the city on Sunday, October 15.

Tickets for the gig go on sale from Friday, May 26 at 9am and are priced at £22.50 plus booking fee.

The latest tour comes ahead of the group's fifth studio album which is due in September.

The Darkness first exploded onto the music scene with their landmark debut, Permission to Land back in 2003, which contained their biggest hit I Believe In A Thing Called Love.

Their most recent LP, Last of Our Kind was issued in 2015 and reached number one on the UK Rock chart, and number two on the US Hard Rock chart.

Of their upcoming tour, singer Justin Hawkins jokingly said: "The absence of an official live DVD means you have to witness a show first hand before you are entitled to slag it off. Then, and only then, may you slag it off. I wager you won’t."
