The Kooks have announced they will be performing a headline gig at the Limelight in Belfast this autumn.

The She Moves in Her Own Way hitmakers will take to the city centre stage on Monday, September 3.

Tickets go on sale from Friday, July 13 at 9am.

The newly announced gig comes ahead of the release of their fifth studio album Let’s Go Sunshine, which will be released on August 31.

Speaking about the new record, lead singer Luke Pritchard said: "This one was about defining who we are. We were asking the questions. It was a fractured start.

"We went into the studio in 2015, continuing down the path we set out on our last studio album Listen and discovered it wasn’t what we wanted to make and wasn’t really The Kooks. So we scrapped it and started again.

"I really went on a mission to write the best songs I’d ever written before bringing them to the band. I stewed over every word."

The Kooks started their career in 2006 with their debut Inside In/Inside Out, which went five times platinum at the end of last year.

The four-piece have continued to go from strength to strength with three more studio albums and embarked on a number of massive world tours including their forthcoming sold-out US tour.

The band last performed in Belfast in 2017 when they supported Arcade Fire for Belsonic at Ormeau Park.
