The Proclaimers will perform at the Ulster Hall in Belfast later this year, it has been announced.

Craig and Charlie Reid  will take to the stage at the venue on Friday, December 7.

The Scottish duo will also perform at Vicar Street in Dublin on Saturday, December 8.

Tickets go on sale from Friday, February 23 at 9am through the Ulster Hall Box Office and Ticketmaster.

The Proclaimers will add to their songbook in August with the release of their 11th studio album and another UK & Ireland tour across running from July to December.

It has been 31 years since The Proclaimers emerged.

Since then, their enduring appeal across generations has carved a niche for themselves where pop, folk, new wave and punk collide.

The pair have even inspired a musical, the play and film Sunshine on Leith.

The musical has its fourth UK run from April to June this year, with its biggest production to date by West Yorkshire Playhouse.

2018 also marks the 30th anniversary since the release of the Sunshine On Leith album.
