The Wanted succeeded in finding their way to a secret location, with only £20, a smartphone and the help of their fans.
As part of the BlackBerry Live And Lost tour, which also sees Example and Professor Green relying mainly on the goodwill of others, the chart-topping group, who were dropped off in Dover with the cash and a BlackBerry Torch 9800, had to make their way to Leeds for an exclusive gig.
Along the way, they had to shovel horse poo in return for a night's accommodation, perform for fans - including a surprise 18th birthday - and dress up in costumes.
"I can safely say the strangest thing I had to do was cleaning up horse poo at eight in the morning - and I got bit by a horse by the way; he was massive!" admitted Siva Kaneswaran.
Bandmate Max George added: "It has been a wicked week. It got hard at points because it was so cold, and sometimes we were struggling for a lift."
"I had to dress as a chimp and Tom [Parker] as a chicken to go to a party. We managed to blag a couple of costumes from a fancy dress shop owner, and then we had to sleep with them too," he joked. "It was good fun"
Despite the challenges over the three days, Siva said he would do it again: "Definitely, I'd do it for longer."
