Timberlake plays surprise free gig
Justin Timberlake wowed an all-star crowd at a free gig in New York he organised through Twitter.
The SexyBack singer performed at the Southern Hospitality barbecue joint on Wednesday night with rock/hip-hop band FreeSol and showed off some new material.
The venue was packed with guests including newly-wed Kim Kardashian and her sister Kourtney, Emma Roberts and Amanda Seyfried, who stars with Justin in new movie In Time, People.com reports.
Justin tweeted: "Thanks to everyone who came out to @bbqnyc... amazing night.."
The Social Network star will play another gig on Thursday at New York's Irving Plaza with FreeSol, whose album is out on Justin's Tennman Records label.
The 30-year-old singer performed a set including a rap ballad called Don't Give It Away, an a cappella performance of What Goes Around and finished with another new song with the chorus: "Your body's like a fast car/I've got the keys."
Justin has been focusing on his acting career of late and recently told Playboy magazine music was not his focus.
He said: "You go through these spurts when you miss it. In a perfect world I'd love to be able to involve myself in music and films as they come and go."
"People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don't know what to say. Music is not my focus right now. It may be some day. It could happen next month or next year, but right now it's not where it's at for me."
