U2 announce second Belfast show after huge demand for tickets

U2 will play a second show in Belfast later this year, it has been confirmed.

The Irish rockers announced this week they will be bringing their eXPERIENCE + iNNOCENCE tour to the SSE Arena in the city on October 27.

Tickets for the gig went on sale on Friday morning and immediately sold out, prompting promoters to announced a second date for October 28.

Tickets for the new show will go on sale on February 9 at 9am from all usual Ticketmaster outlets.

The band will also perform at the 3Arena in Dublin on November 5, 6, 9 and 10.

The band last played in Belfast in November 2015 for their Innocence and Experience tour, their first appearance in two decades.

That tour was named the number one concert of 2015 by the New York Times.

The tour kicks off in the US on May 2. Dates for Germany, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands have already been confirmed for the European leg.
