Watch: DJ Martin Garrix talks touring and why 'every day is surreal'

Fresh from his massive Belsonic gig at Belfast's Ormeau Park a few weeks ago, Martin Garrix has continued on the touring trail ahead of his summer residency in Ibiza.

Speaking at BST Hyde Park in London this week, the Dutch star said his DJing lifestyle is hectic, but he loves it.

"I've been touring a lot but I'll never, ever get bored of this," he added. "Everytime I'm on stage I get so much adrenaline from the crowd and so much happiness from people.

"If I see someone smile, it makes me smile. So if I see thousands of people smile I just run around being happy."

"I bring my friends with me on the tour, I see my family as much as I can. I'm very happy - every day is surreal, it's so crazy."

Martin previously said he would love the chance to work with the One Direction boys now they are pursuing solo projects, but so far nothing has been set in motion.

He said: "It hasn't happened yet but maybe one day. I just worked with Troye Sivan, and I did a song with Dua Lipa - it was all really fun because they are not as big as One Direction, yet.

"I feel like they are going to be even bigger. I love to work with artists like that. I'm very thankful to have been given the opportunity to work with them so we could make out magic together."

Asked whether he had the chance to meet up with idols Ed Sheeran and Tinie Tempah recently, Martin revealed: "I have FaceTimed with Tinie, so that was fun.

"I have a residency in Ibiza this summer and so does he, so we will see each other a lot. Both of us on the same island - it will be a lot of fun."
