Westlife star Mark Feehily announces Belfast show
Westlife star Mark Feehily is set to perform a solo gig in Belfast next month.
The Irish singer will take to the stage at the Empire Music Hall on December 18.
Tickets are on sale from Friday, November 24 at 9am.
The gig announcement comes as Feehily gets set to release his album Christmas on December 1.
The album, a collection of classic Christmas songs, marks the singer's return to the music spotlight after a two-year absence.
Tracks on the album include a cover of Joni Mitchell’s River and a version of Otis Redding’s Merry Christmas Baby as well as Feehily's own versions of Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas and Mariah Carey’s Miss You Most (at Christmas Time).
He said of the record: "Christmas has always been my favourite time of the year so naturally it's been a dream of mine to make this album.
“It’s been fantastic being back in the studio to cover wonderful songs and make them my own. I’ve had incredible feedback, particularly about River and Merry Christmas Baby.
"I’m looking forward to giving something back to fans. This is what the album is all about. It is a bit of my own Christmas gift to them.”
Earlier this month, Westlife fans grew excited when manager Louis Walsh appeared to confirm they would be reuniting.
He told RSVP Live Magazine: “A Westlife reunion is definitely going to happen... but I have no idea when. I'm still really good friends with all of the lads."
However, bandmember Nicky Byrne seemingly shot down the news by tweeting: "Shame this Westlife news is not true, they were always my guilty pleasure..."
