Northern Ireland Opera announce charity gala performance of Rigoletto

Northern Ireland Opera will celebrate the opening of its production of Rigoletto with a sparkling charity gala performance in support of Inspire and the NI Hospice.

The production will take place in Belfast at the Grand Opera House on Sunday, September 30 and is the first inter-continental co-production in the company’s history, showcasing Verdi’s greatest hits La Donna è Mobile and Caro Nome.

Rigoletto features multi-award winning Verdi Baritone Sebastian Catana, Cardiff Singer of the World Nadine Koutcher and winner at Placido Domingo's Operalia Davide Giusti.

The production also features the outstanding chorus of Northern Ireland Opera with the Ulster Orchestra conducted by Maestro Gareth Hancock.

The opera offers opportunities for a Belfast-based chorus and has many roles that will be filled with Northern Irish singers for whom the opportunity to share a stage and learn from bona fide world stars will be a unique experience.
