Paul Potts review: Savouring a voice that left Cowell speechless
Seven years ago, when the concept of TV talent shows was relatively fresh, a portly phone salesman walked on stage, opened his mouth and left Simon Cowell speechless.
Since then we've endured endless also-rans and never-should-have-beens courtesy of Britain's Got Talent, but Paul Potts remains the original and the best of the show's winners.
It's likely the 44-year-old opera singer had hoped 2013's brilliant film about his life, One Chance, would have boosted turnouts on his current tour of the same name.
The modest audience at Belfast's Waterfront suggested Potts's popularity may have peaked. That would be a pity, as the Welshman's voice remains something to experience.
