Newry is set to become the dance music capital of Northern Ireland this weekend as two of the city's venues prepare to host some of the biggest names in the beats business.

Tonight at The Relic, Dave Pearce will be dropping by to spin a few tunes at an event hosted by Planetlove WKD. In his long career, Pearce has soundtracked the lives of millions of clubbers through his radio broadcasts on the BBC and Kiss FM, as well as numerous club and festival appearances world-wide. His Dance Anthems show ran for over a decade on Radio 1, before recently relocated to Sunday night on BBC 6 Music. Earlier this year, Pearce compiled The Dance Years, a series of compilation albums containing many of the biggest dancefloor tracks released over the past two decades, quite a few of which will be getting an airing this evening as he takes to the decks alongside Larne's DJ legend, Robbie Nelson.

Best to keep some energy in reserve, though, as tomorrow night, the Ministry of Sound Clubbers' Guide Tour touches down at The Bank on Trevor Hill, fronted by Josh Roberts.
