During the past two years, The High Kings have achieved platinum status with their debut CD and DVD, completed two sell-out Irish tours and were voted Best Newcomer and Best Folk Act at Ireland’s Music Awards.

They are described as one of the most exciting Irish ballad group to emerge since The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem electrified the worldwide folk revival of the 1960s.

Their style includes taking some of the classic ballad repertoire from the past and mixing those songs with new and exciting modern songs in the folk idiom.

The group are set to appear this weekend with Cara Dillon, The Red Hot Chilli Pipers, Celtic Rhythm and Catherine Grimley as part of the free concert being held to celebrate Armagh’s St Patrick’s Festival.
