X Factor winner Joe McElderry promises a stripped back acoustic tour of old and new songs for Northern Ireland fans
X factor winner Joe McElderry brings his solo tour to Northern Ireland for the very first time.
The English born singer/songwriter took the Nation by storm in 2009 when Cheryl Cole took the South Shields shy singer under her wings, and turned him into an over night sensation.
After winning X Factor Joe released his first single, a rendition of Miley Cyrus’ ‘The Climb’, which went straight to number one in the UK and Irish single charts.
Joe has hundreds of thousands of fans, he said: “I am very excited about coming to Northern Ireland on tour, I can’t wait to meet the audience.”
The Evolution tour will have songs from all four of his albums as well as some new material.
Joe McElderry said: “This tour is a bit different as it is a stripped back acoustic set, so I am really excited about playing these shows.”
He added: “I have plenty of new material, I just need to get my tour done first before I sit down and record my fifth album.”
Although Joe is only 22-years-old he his fifth album is expected to be out later this year.
Joe McElderry said: “I had written a lot of material first, and in a short space of time, now I feel it is time to perform again before I get back to writing more songs.”
Catch Joe’s Evolution tour at The Grand Opera House, Belfast on Sunday 15 March and the Millennium Forum, Londonderry on Monday 16 March.
