Alesha to host new singing show

Alesha Dixon and Paddy McGuinness are to host a new celebrity singing reality show on ITV.

Your Face Sounds Familiar will see celebrities perform as different iconic music artists in front of a panel of judges including Julian Clary and Spice Girl Emma Bunton.

But in a comedy twist, the regular cast of celebrities will have no control over which music star they must be transformed into, as it will be picked by the Your Face Sounds Familiar 'Randomiser'. So they will have one week to try and perfect looking and sounding like a much younger or older singer or even a member of the opposite sex.

Alesha said: "This show is going to be a lot of fun. I can't wait to see their transformations and spectacular performances. I know that Paddy and I are going to have our work cut out keeping them all in line!"

Paddy said: "To be given a live show on Saturday night TV is a massive honour. Hairbrushes at the ready, for a proper good old Saturday night sing along. It's an honour to be in the same company as Ant and Dec, Dermot O'Leary and lest we not forget, Russ Abbot [who once hosted a special edition of Star In Their Eyes]."

The judges - Julian, Emma and a special guest each week - will award the celebrities points for their performance and the contestant with the most points at the end of each show will receive a cash prize for a charity of their choice, with a further grand prize for the series champion.

The Endemol show has already proved an international hit, having been picked up in 20 countries and set to air in America.

Your Face Sounds Familiar will air on ITV later this year.
