Newtownards will be animated this weekend with puppets of all shapes and sizes when the annual Ards Puppet Festival returns.

Over two days on Sunday, May 26 and Monday 27 the programme will offer scheduled shows, street theatre, walkabouts and craft workshops at the Ards Arts Centre and Conway Square.

The Conway Square programme of activities runs from noon until 4pm each day and includes colourful street theatre and plenty of puppets to meet.

One of the highlights will be performances by the Budapest Marionettes. Performing for the first time here, Bence Sarkadi is a Hungarian marionette artist/puppeteer who travels the globe, entertaining crowds with his award-winning one-man show.
