Babs's ideal Jubilee Lunch guests
Barbara Windsor celebrates with her ideal street party guests past and present as she prepares for the Diamond Jubilee.
The former EastEnders actress chose stars such as late singer Amy Winehouse and Oscar-winning actor Colin Firth among her favourites.
She rounded off her choices with Sir Winston Churchill and athlete Jessica Ennis to promote the Big Jubilee Lunch, which takes place on June 3.
Babs - known to millions for her role as Albert Square's Peggy Mitchell - joined wax figures of her chosen guests at Madame Tussauds to create her own tea party.
The 74-year-old actress, who is the Mayor of London's official street party ambassador, said: "I have some incredible memories of growing up in the East End of London, with everyone coming together for street parties.
"The Big Lunch is a fantastic way to bring back some of that community spirit of yesteryear."
She said of her choice of Firth: "He epitomises the typical British gentleman. He's a lovely bit of eye candy, and it's nice for the women to have someone to swoon over."
Of her other choices, Windsor said: "You have Winston Churchill, who would give us one of his speeches and rouse us up once a year, which would be wonderful.
"I wanted someone for the Olympics and Jess is one of our great Olympic hopefuls - and of course my darling Amy who we could have a good sing-song with and she would get it going."
Around 10 million people took part in Silver Jubilee street party celebrations in 1977 and organisers are hoping to top that this year. Further details about the parties are at www.thebiglunch.com.
