Baz Luhrmann for Napoleon drama?

Baz Luhrmann could direct Steven Spielberg's miniseries about Napoleon, according to reports.

Lincoln director Steven has previously announced he wants to turn a Stanley Kubrick screenplay about former military leader Napoleon Bonaparte into a TV miniseries.

Now Deadline has reported that Moulin Rouge! filmmaker Baz, who last directed The Great Gatsby, is being courted to direct the show for HBO.

The TV series is not the only project in the works about the former French emperor.

Earlier this month it was announced that Snow White And The Huntsman's Rupert Sanders would direct a big screen biopic about Napoleon, who conquered much of Europe.

The filmmaker has signed up to make the movie for Warner Bros.
