BBC's Top Of The Lake goes global
Top Of The Lake has become a worldwide hit after just one episode.
The BBC Two drama, which is filmed in New Zealand, has already been bought up by almost 100 countries even though only the first episode has aired in the UK, says The Sun.
Oscar-winning actress Holly Hunter and Mad Men's Elisabeth Moss star in the atmospheric crime series about the missing pregnant 12-year-old daughter of a drug lord, played by Peter Mullen.
The haunting mystery was written and directed by Jane Campion, who also made Oscar-winning film The Piano.
Execs from TV companies around the world have been buying up the seven-episode series, which is now set to air in countries including Canada, South Africa and Japan.
Holly appears later this year in comedy Paradise with Russell Brand and Julianne Hough, while Elisabeth is set to star next year in drama The One I Love with Mark Duplass and Ted Danson.
