Beharry skates off Dancing On Ice

Johnson Beharry has skated off Dancing On Ice but said he had the time of his life on the show.

The Victoria Cross hero and his partner Jodeyne Higgins took to the ice for their final time in a skate-off against Chloe Madeley, who had stumbled earlier in the night.

The panel of judges decided to save Chloe, the daughter of presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, after she put in a flawless performance with partner Michael Zenezini.

The Dancing On Ice panel voted unanimously to save Chloe with judge Jason Gardiner explaining to Johnson: "It's about a final that we can be proud of but you've come an incredibly long way."

Yesterday's show saw all four celebrities first skate with their partners before braving the ice alone in solo performances. Former EastEnders actor Sam Attwater was top of the leader board with two impressive skates, after coming back from being in the bottom two the week before.

Johnson found himself at the bottom of the pack after his solo number, in which the soldier glided slowly and steadily across the ice to Don't Worry Be Happy.

Johnson admitted he had "a few moments" in the skate-off and said it did not feel as good as his first performance, but was gracious in defeat. "This experience has been positive in my life, every day I have learnt a new thing," the soldier said.

Host Phillip Schofield said they were very sad to see Johnson leave, to which he replied: "No need to be sad, I had the time of my life."

Chloe, Sam Attwater and TV presenter Laura Hamilton will now battle it out in the final.
