Being tall is no joke for Banjo

Ashley Banjo has revealed that he couldn't resist teasing Aston Merrygold about his height.

The Diversity dancer, who is over six feet tall, admitted he engaged in banter with the JLS singer, who is around 5'5, following his new stint as judge on Got To Dance.

"All we do is joke around. We have banter and I'll wind him up about being short and he winds me up about being tall," Ashley said.

The 24-year-old, who won Britain's Got Talent in 2009, praised Aston for joining the fourth series of the Sky1 dance show.

"He fits in absolutely fine. It's a big ask four series in to say, 'Just jump on the panel'. It's difficult and must have been scary on the first day," he said.

"He adds a different perspective. He's an international performer so he's bringing a different perspective. He's not primarily a dancer and he's self-taught so acrobatics and his tricks are a big part of his style, although street is one of his influences."

Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt, who's also a judge on the show, has spoken about how she has arguments with Ashley and Aston on the programme.

"Kimberly is always going to fall out with someone. We have arguments because we are so passionate about the acts that are dancing, but Kimberly definitely has her fall-outs," Ashley said.

"I hope we agree on something by the end, maybe the winner," he joked.

Got To Dance is on Sky1 HD on Sunday nights at 6pm. Got To Dance: Auditions Uncut, with extra footage from the show, airs throughout the week.
