Belfast composer Sheridan Tongue hosting event to nurture new talent
Sheridan Tongue, the BAFTA-nominated composer born in Belfast, is hosting a free event tonight as part of the Sound of Belfast festival, hoping to inspire a new generation of producers.
Sheridan is the man behind the music for TV shows like Silent Witness and Spooks - and most recently undertook the task of writing a suitable and sensitive soundtrack for the series, Spotlight on the Troubles: A Secret History.
He said: "That was one of the biggest challenges, working on a documentary like this because it clearly affected so many people's lives and the music needs to tread very carefully.
"I didn't want to add emotion to the story where already there is an awful lot of emotion and I wanted to keep the music more neutral and observational and let the story speak for itself."
Getting To Know... Sheridan Tongue is at the Oh Yeah Music Centre tonight from 7-9pm and tickets are free via Eventbrite
