The launch of Belfast Mela 2017 offered a glimpse of the bright colours and exotic sights set to transform Botanic Gardens this August bank holiday weekend.

This year's festivities will take place on the afternoon of Sunday, August 27 in the park.

Attractions will include a lively, multicultural parade through Botanic Gardens, performances from international music acts on the main stage, dancing, costumes, a global souk, diverse world food market and street theatre, as well as activities for children.

Organised by ArtsEkta, Belfast Mela is in its 11th year and expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors.

Tickets can be booked in advance online at http://www.belfastmela.org.uk
