Beyonce in video game law suit
A video game maker has claimed Beyonce didn't play fair in a deal for a game structured around her.
Gate Five LLC sued the Crazy in Love singer on Tuesday in New York. The lawsuit says she made a lucrative agreement in June for a game called Starpower: Beyonce, then demanded a new deal and abruptly abandoned the project.
The lawsuit claims Beyonce's manoeuvring drove a backer away and destroyed Gate Five's business. Gate Five says it lost its nearly 7 million dollars of investment in the venture and more than 100 million dollars in potential profits, and 70 people lost their jobs.
The multiplatinum-selling singer debuted in the group Destiny's Child before becoming a solo star. She has also appeared in movies, including Dreamgirls and Cadillac Records.
