Botham's boy and Northern Ireland girl married in Mustique
Northern Ireland socialite and IN! Magazine publisher Lisa Harrison has just married Sir Ian Botham's son Liam Botham on the Caribbean island of Mustique.
It's a first marriage for Lisa (32), from Co Down, and the second for Liam (35), a former county cricketer for Hampshire, as well as a professional in both rugby codes.
Liam's best man at the ceremony yesterday was business tycoon David Ross, an independent director of the British Olympic Association.
Entrepreneur Lisa became engaged to the son of former England cricket captain Sir Ian Botham, known to all by his nickname Beefy, earlier this year after they started dating in 2012.
Liam's parents, Sir Ian and Lady Kath, met Lisa when they stayed at the Merchant Hotel in Belfast after attending the IN! Glamour Awards at Belfast City Hall last November.
Two months later, Lisa and Liam became engaged on a trip to Mustique and were married there yesterday in front of a small group of family and close friends.
Once the honeymoon is over the new Mr and Mrs Botham will be starting married life in a London flat.
Last night Lisa's friend, television presenter Zoe Salmon, said: "I wish Lisa and Liam all the love, joy and happiness in the world as they commence their new life together and I'm extremely excited for their future – and to see Lisa's dress. I'm sure Lisa was a breathtakingly beautiful bride."
Lisa's strapless light-weight dress was created by another of her showbiz friends, Belfast designer Una Rodden.
The top of the dress is laser-cut lace with embellished beading and organza flowers and the bottom is a light silk chiffon and crepe de Chine, with a crinoline bow around the middle.
The lace and chiffon are ivory and the underneath is soft blush nude.
Una told the Belfast Telegraph she regularly creates pieces for the young publisher, whose style she described as "quirky, with a touch of class".
The designer said: "It was a big compliment for Lisa to select us for her wedding dress.
"The team at Una Rodden Couture is delighted for Liam and Lisa and we wish them well."
Last night the team at IN! also extended their congratulations to the newlyweds.
Business manager Cara Taylor said: "We are delighted for Lisa and Liam.
"She's always smiling when he is around. They are a lovely couple and we are all very excited for them."
