Irish group Boyzone have confirmed they will be performing together this summer before releasing new music and going on tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary in 2018.

The announcement was made via social media on Monday, telling fans "plans are being hatched" for new music and shows throughout next year.

But ahead of that, Ronan Keating, Mikey Graham, Keith Duffy and Shane Lynch will also be performing a number of gigs this summer, with dates and venues yet to be confirmed.

Boyzone gained fame across the UK and Ireland in 1994 following the release of their second single Love Me For A Reason, which reached number 1 in the charts.

Their hits include No Matter What, Picture of You, Words, and Baby Can I Hold You Tonight.

The band split in 1999 but have reunited a number of times over the years.

Fifth band member Stephen Gateley died in 2009 at the age of 33 while in Majorca with his partner.

He had an undetected heart condition.
