Julia Bradbury has revealed she's "massively excited" about being a mum.
The Countryfile TV presenter is expecting her first child with her partner, property developer Gerard Cunningham, in August.
"I'm massively excited about motherhood and I want to fully indulge and engage in it, and be there as a mum," she said.
Julia plans to take some maternity time off, but insisted she will be able to balance working life with parenthood.
"It's going to be a real shift, but a real adventure as well," she continued.
"I'm going to play it very much by ear. My mum was a working mother, and I've grown up in a family of women who did the juggle and combined motherhood with their careers, so I'm certainly planning to do that."
She added: "But I'm also not taking it for granted, as it's a massive lifestyle change and I'm sure time at home will be increasingly precious."
The 40-year-old will even think about work during her maternity leave.
"The plan is that while I'm taking that time out, I'm going to use it as a creative think tank as well and consider what I'm going to do when I come back at the beginning of next year. But there are some really exciting things coming up - more walks, more adventures and more Countryfile as well."
