Bradley Walsh eyes up Stormzy collaboration

Bradley Walsh had all eyes on him at the 2017 BRIT Awards when he was the first to congratulate winner Rag'n'Bone Man.

The Chase host Bradley Walsh has joked he’s going to make a grime album with hip hop artist Stormzy.

Actor and presenter Bradley recently added recording artist to his impressive resume, and even earned a gold disc for his debut covers album Chasing Dreams which sold over 100,000 copies. So it wasn’t a surprise to see him at the 2017 BRIT Awards on Wednesday night (22Feb17), where he crossed paths with grime star Stormzy, who was up for British Breakthrough Act but lost out to Rag’n’Bone Man.

“Me and Stormzy. We’re gonna do an album. We’re gonna do an album of Nelson Riddle arrangements in grime form. It’s gonna be called ‘Griddle’. We’re looking forward to it, we’re gonna collaborate,” Bradley, 56, quipped to NME from the red carpet of the event, where he also admitted to feeling like a “rabbit between the headlights” amid the shenanigans.

“We hang together. Do a bit of grime. What else do we do, grunge? No, just grime. Definitely grime.”

Bradley continued to humour journalists by saying singer Bruno Mars was also his “mate”, before confessing: “Other than that, I don’t know why I’m here.”

It wasn’t just Bradley’s Stormzy statement that left people speechless; during the ceremony viewers were stunned to see him sat on the same table as double-winner Rag'n'Bone Man, who also picked up the Critics’ Choice Award. The pair even hugged after the Human singer’s name was announced as breakthrough act during the event, triggering people to question why they were so friendly.

“Rag'n'Bone man and Bradley Walsh is the most random friendship ever,” one user commented on Twitter, while another humoured, “I'm so confused why was Bradley Walsh there to kiss Rag'n'Bone Man hahahah (sic)”.
