Charlize Theron: Son is 'cool kid'
Charlize Theron has gushed about her new baby son, calling him "the coolest kid ever".
The 36-year-old actress, who adopted the boy named Jackson, said she is enjoying her new role as a mother.
"I've always been very honest in saying I wanted a family. I've always known I wanted a family," she told UK Vogue.
"I don't think my mum could wait any more!" she joked.
The former model - who won an Oscar for her performance as serial killer Aileen Wuornos in Monster - revealed she has learned a lot from her own mother Gerda.
"I hope to be like my mum. Fair, tough, loving and supportive. My mum has made it possible for me to be who I am," continued Charlize.
"Our family is everything. Her greatest skill was encouraging me to find my own person and own independence."
The South African star also revealed that she was branded "too big" when she tried to become a model, after Kate Moss' slim frame set the trend.
"I was too late for the supermodel look of the 80s. Kate Moss had just become fashionable and I didn't fit the bill," she added.
